516 Pound-Feet of Torque Comes Standard as 2027 Kia EV9 Gets Style Updates While Keeping Price Increases to a Minimum

Small changes across the lineup
Kia is making a series of updates to the EV9 for 2027. The rear-wheel-drive Light Short Range starts at $56,635, up $90 from the 2026 model, while the rear-wheel-drive Light Long Range with a 100-kWh battery starts at $59,635, also a $90 increase.
The Wind’s starting price rises by $190 to $65,735. It gains black 19-inch wheels and gloss-black exterior trim, and buyers can now choose Wolf Gray paint.
Land adds Nightfall features
The 2027 EV9 Land starts at $71,635, an increase of $1,090. Kia now includes the Nightfall Edition’s gloss-black 20-inch wheels, exterior trim and blacked-out interior as standard equipment.
Torque boost now standard
The Land also receives the temporary torque-boost function as standard. Previously, the feature was an optional extra on that trim and was included with the Nightfall Edition. The boost raises torque from 443 to 516 pound-feet. Kia says it cuts the nearly 6,000-pound SUV’s zero-to-60-mph time to 4.5 seconds.
Competition is approaching
The EV9 was the first mainstream three-row electric SUV to reach the market, arriving for the 2024 model year. It still shares the segment with its corporate cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 9.
