At London’s Ballon d’Or, Sophie Turner Shows Dark Hair in Rare Carpet Appearance Amid Tomb Raider Filming

A London red carpet appearance

Turner attended the 2026 Ballon d’Or Ceremony on Monday, October 26, at the Palladium Theatre in London. The 30-year-old actress wore her hair in a shade that appeared darker than the brunette look seen in images from Tomb Raider filming. Earlier this month, she attended Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 fashion show in Paris.

What the Ballon d’Or recognizes

The Ballon d’Or is an award in soccer and football that considers individual performance, team achievements and class combined with fair play. Its stated criteria also weigh a player’s effect on team success alongside talent and sportsmanship.

Select international journalists choose the winner based on performances over the season. Voters rank their top 10 candidates, with points assigned on a descending scale.

Tomb Raider filming continues

Turner was announced as Lara Croft in a live-action television adaptation of the Tomb Raider franchise. Prime Video released a first look at her in character earlier this year as production began.

In March, she was seen filming at the British Museum and shooting an action scene. Production later paused after she sustained a minor on-set injury, then resumed; she was spotted filming in Spain in July.

In September, co-star Jason Isaacs said he had finished filming his scenes as Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle. The series has no release date yet, with a 2027 premiere considered likely.

Key points

  • Turner’s hair looked darker at the London ceremony than in Tomb Raider set images.
  • She wore Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection with Luna pumps and a Le Damier necklace.
  • Filming paused after Turner suffered a minor injury, then resumed in Spain.
  • The Prime Video series has no release date, but may premiere in 2027.
