Dawgs Georgia Football Stars Dominate First Half of 2026, With Florida Ahead

Cole leads the defense

Chris Cole has emerged as a leading candidate for Georgia’s midseason MVP. The linebacker has recorded 40 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

Both recoveries came against Oklahoma, and Cole returned one for a touchdown. After Georgia’s win over Alabama, he was named Bednarik Award Player of the Week; he also earned Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week honors after the Oklahoma victory.

Glover anchors the line

Sophomore guard Glover, from Atlanta, has been a steady presence on Georgia’s offensive line. His play has helped the Bulldogs average 197 rushing yards per game, third in the SEC. Glover has shown strength and mobility, and could contend for All-SEC honors if he continues playing well in the season’s second half.

Phillips steps into larger role

With Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens both missing extended time, Dwight Phillips Jr. has taken on a major role in Georgia’s rushing attack. The third-year running back has 47 carries for just under 350 yards and two touchdowns, along with 10 catches for 114 yards and a score.

Bolden strengthens the secondary

Junior safety Bolden has been a dependable part of Georgia’s secondary. His absence in the loss to Auburn was felt, and he made a key third-down sack late in the Alabama game to help secure the road win.

Through six games, Bolden has 22 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one interception. Georgia will need him at his best down the stretch, beginning with the upcoming game against Florida in Atlanta.
