Burrow catches fire as Rodgers passes Manning in NFL Week 7 defining stats

Rodgers and Burrow make history

Aaron Rodgers threw his 540th career touchdown pass, moving past Peyton Manning’s 539 for third in NFL history. Tom Brady leads with 649, followed by Drew Brees at 571. Rodgers also recorded his 115th win against NFC opponents, tying Brees for the second-most in NFL history.

Joe Burrow shifted dramatically after a scoreless first half, when he completed six of 12 passes for 43 yards. In the second half, he completed 16 of 18 for 249 yards and four touchdowns, earning a perfect 158.3 passer rating. The four scoring passes tied his career high for a half; the yardage ranked sixth among his second halves.

Receiving milestones across the league

Omar Cooper Jr. became the 12th player in NFL history to post at least two 100-yard receiving games in his first three career games. He is the first to reach that mark since Puka Nacua in 2023. Malik Nabers recorded his fourth straight game with at least 100 receiving yards, matching Odell Beckham Jr.’s 2014 streak for second-longest in Giants history. Beckham’s six-game run in 2015 remains the team record.

Trey McBride became the first tight end with 400 receptions in his first five seasons. His 10th career game with at least 10 catches ranks fifth among tight ends. Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached 800 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns through seven games, joining Cooper Kupp and Jerry Rice as the third wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to do so.

Team runs and scoring feats

The Vikings extended their winning streak to 11 games, tying the 1986–87 Bears for the longest streak by a team with at least four starting quarterbacks since 1950. According to Next Gen Stats, Minnesota blitzed on 85.2% of Daniel Jones’ dropbacks, the highest single-game rate since tracking began in 2016.
