Money Doc Maker Updated Film on Fergie Chambers After Arrest and U.S. Extradition Request

A film about wealth and influence

All About the Money follows James Cox Chambers, known as Fergie Chambers, as he travels internationally seeking to make a difference. He comes from a family whose holdings include Cox Enterprises.

The documentary explores money, power and revolution, including Chambers’ pro-Palestine and anti-Israel activism. O’Shea wrote and directed the film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and later screened at the BFI London Film Festival.

Arrest and extradition request

Spanish authorities arrested Chambers in July, and he is being held in Madrid. The Guardian reported that FBI agents raided his vacation rental in Ibiza, Spain. The United States has requested his extradition, citing alleged financial support for Hamas and other charges.

O’Shea said Chambers’ lawyers told her the case is sealed and that an accusation involves money transferred from the U.S. and allegedly used to finance Hamas. She said she believes his legal team, which says he donated only to lawful humanitarian and philanthropic projects for Gaza and Palestine.

O’Shea adds a factual update

O’Shea said recent developments prompted her to change the documentary’s ending. The added text card is intended to state what is known, she said, amid speculation about the case.

The card says Chambers told the director in summer 2026 that he was being followed, then was arrested in Spain a few weeks later. It also states that the U.S. is seeking his extradition and that he is imprisoned in Madrid.

Filmmaker discusses the case

O’Shea described Chambers as difficult and said some of his views are unacceptable and extreme, while also calling some of his comments on U.S. inequality insightful. She said the film presents its subjects’ perspectives rather than expressing her own precise worldview.

She also voiced concern that Chambers might not receive a fair trial in the United States, citing what she sees as a polarized atmosphere. O’Shea was seen holding a “Free Fergie Chambers” sign at an LFF screening.

Upcoming screenings

All About the Money is due in U.K. and Irish cinemas from Oct. 30, after its BFI London Film Festival run. The film is also set to screen at DOC NYC on Nov. 14. The documentary was produced by Claire McCabe, Harry Vaughn, Katie Holly and Sigrid Dyekjær, with SOS Productions and Real Lava as co-producers.
