Gemini redesign makes adding context to Live chats easier on Android

A new way to add items
A plus button now appears on the left when Gemini Live is active in the Android app. Opening it reveals options for Photos, Files, Drive and screen sharing.
Earlier, users needed to attach items through the Gemini overlay before entering Live. The new menu lets them reach those sources during a Live session instead.
Screen sharing takes another step
The redesign changes how users share their screen: that action now requires an additional step. Meanwhile, the camera control has been repositioned beside the waveform. The microphone mute control and the close button remain on the right, with no reported changes to either one.
Availability remains limited
The new menu is appearing with Google app stable version 17.68. It is not currently offered on iOS. Users who launch Live from the Gemini overlay will not see the plus menu there. The feature is limited to Live sessions started inside the app.
