Mave startup raised $34 million to help security teams keep pace with AI threats; read the pitch deck
Funding and hiring plans
Mave’s $34 million total includes $28 million from a Series A led by Red Dot Capital Partners, with participation from Lumir Growth Partners. The company had previously raised a $6 million seed round.
The startup has 30 employees and plans to double its headcount using part of the new funding. Most new roles are expected to support go-to-market work and AI research.
Agents target faster attacks
Mave uses AI agents to counter cyberattacks that can unfold more quickly and at greater scale. CEO and cofounder Raziel Oren predicted that incidents involving agents would grow exponentially.
Oren described security operations as an organization’s final barrier. He said existing solutions are struggling to keep pace with new threats.
Founders and customer trust
Oren cofounded Mave with Guy Eshel in 2025. The two had known each other for years and met when Oren mentored Eshel in Unit 8200 of the Israel Defense Forces intelligence corps.
Oren said some customers need time before entrusting security operations to agents. Mave says its agents record steps across thousands of workflows, letting employees review their reasoning and actions.
AI and cybersecurity risks
AI is being used both to intensify cyber threats and to identify security weaknesses. OpenAI said this week that one of its models helped find a vulnerability that could affect 70% of websites worldwide. Mave says its technology has stopped the cybercriminal group ShinyHunters in one instance.
