Court hears Russell Brand accuser said alleged rape had really, really hurt

Friend describes her account

A friend told the jury that the complainant described the alleged attack as having “really, really hurt.” She said the two spoke about it soon afterward, and recalled her friend crying and being very upset. The witness also remembered asking whether the complainant had said no when the alleged attack began. Another friend of the same woman gave evidence, saying the complainant described the worst moment as coming after the act.

Second friend recalls aftermath

The second friend told the court that the complainant said Brand had told her she was dirty and needed to clean up her mess. The witness said she offered advice after her friend confided in her.

She recalled her friend being unsure and described her thoughts as chaotic. The complainant felt, the witness said, that it was not worth pursuing.

Parents describe her distress

Her father recalled that she was very upset and unwell during the stay, and said she was distressed by something that had happened to her. He said he asked whether she had asked Brand to stop, and that she answered no several times.

The father said his daughter had a sexual health check. He also said he had only recently learned that she was accusing Brand of anal rape.
