Outlander’s Sam Heughan officially joins Taylor Sheridan’s favorite streamer in new series
Heughan’s next television projects
After eight seasons of Outlander, Heughan is moving on to new television roles. He played Highland warrior Jamie Fraser on the Starz series. He has also appeared in The Couple Next Door and films including The Spy Who Dumped Me, SAS: Red Notice and Bloodshot. Since Outlander ended in May, he has signed on for two thriller series.
A new series for Paramount+
Heughan is set to star in Ascent, a new series for Paramount+. The project also features Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, who are executive producing through JuVee Productions.
John Logan is the creator, showrunner and executive producer. His film credits include Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Skyfall and Spectre, and he recently wrote the script for Michael.
Embassy is also in development
Heughan has signed on to star in Embassy, a separate thriller series set to debut on MGM+ next year. J.K. Simmons and Anna Kendrick are also set to star.
The series centers on an attack on the US Embassy in London. Heughan’s earlier television and film work includes roles during his time on Outlander.
