Ann Gottlieb helped develop it

Dove worked with Ann Gottlieb, a fragrance consultant who began her own consultancy in 1983. Earlier in her career, she worked at Revlon and Estée Lauder. Gottlieb has contributed to fragrances including Calvin Klein CK One and Obsession, Dior J’adore, and Marc Jacobs Daisy. She called Dove Original Fragrance a creative take on scent and said it reflects a brand that listens to its users.

A response to fan requests

Gottlieb told Cosmopolitan that people had requested the fragrance over the years. She described the launch as a way to acknowledge and thank Dove’s fan base. The reviewer has layered the perfume with Coach Gold Parfum and Byredo Future Memories. The vanilla and amber notes in those scents are said to complement Dove Original Fragrance’s floral-powdery base.
