Late Madueke winner: Nottingham Forest v Arsenal ratings reveal which player failed to make the grade at City Ground

Madueke makes the difference

Arsenal struggled to create clear chances in a dull contest, while Matz Sels was largely untroubled. Forest appeared on course for a positive point before Madueke broke the deadlock with a deflected effort.

Madueke entered at half-time for Eze and was credited with adding energy and spark to the attack. His rating was 7, the joint-highest among the players listed.

Arsenal’s defensive display

David Raya earned a 6 after a solid performance that included a strong take from a first-half corner. Ezri Konsa received a 7, with his injury-time tackle on Liam Delap highlighted as crucial to keeping a clean sheet.

Riccardo Calafiori was rated 6. His adventurous runs did not produce a goal, and one loose first-half pass led to a Forest attack.

Forest hold firm until late

Sels, Ousmane Diomande, Neco Williams, Nicolas Dominguez, Daniel Munoz and Delap each received a 6. Diomande was making only his fourth Premier League start, while Dominguez made his first league appearance of the season.

Ibrahim Sangare, who replaced Dominguez in the 74th minute, was given a 5. The assessment said he stopped at a key moment, allowing Arsenal to regroup and score.

Several Arsenal ratings fall short

Bruno Guimaraes and Kai Havertz each received a 5. Guimaraes was replaced by Merino, while Havertz was taken off after a quiet performance as Arsenal struggled despite having plenty of the ball.

Saka earned a 6 for dangerous crosses, though Forest’s deep defensive shape left him little room. BBC Sport said displayed scores represent the average of user submissions after player ratings close.
