Saudi coalition intercepts drones as Egypt weighs sending help to Riyadh

Drones intercepted over Saudi regions
The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthis reported that four drones were intercepted and destroyed over Riyadh, the Eastern Province and the country’s southern region. The coalition described the incident as part of a series of Houthi attacks targeting Saudi airports and oil facilities. Footage was also posted of what was described as air force interceptions of cruise missiles and drones, as well as strikes on Houthi ballistic missile launchers.
Fighting reported in Yemen
On Friday, Yemen’s government said the Houthis had fired two missiles at Aden’s airport. Government forces also said they had advanced in Marib province, northeast of Sanaa.
Egypt signals support for Saudi Arabia
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said on Saturday that Egypt was willing to take any measure to protect Saudi Arabia if the kingdom requested it. He said Egypt did not intend to intervene in regional wars, but called it inconceivable for Cairo to stand by if Saudi Arabia were harmed.
