After 5 Days in Position, White House Press Secretary Zacharia Is Exiting Role
Reported by dw.com · October 16, 2026
Departure reported after brief tenure
Trump had suggested earlier Friday that Zacharia might leave. He said he had encouraged her to consider whether the demanding position would make her happy.
Questions about legal credentials
Zacharia earned a law degree from Pepperdine University in 2011. A law degree alone does not allow graduates to practice law in the United States; they must first be admitted to a state bar.
Earlier work and appointments
Before joining the White House, Zacharia was a commentator for Fox News and Newsmax, both conservative outlets. She also advised Trump Media and Technology, which operates the Truth Social platform.
