As AI boom exploded, Nvidia communications team has undergone a shakeup alongside its soaring public profile

Leadership and team growth

Nvidia’s communications organization has expanded and changed leadership as the company’s prominence has grown. A person close to the company said the team now includes roughly 70 to 80 people around the world, more than double its size when Mylene Mangalindan joined in 2023.

Mangalindan became vice president of corporate communications after working at Brunswick Group. She succeeded Bob Sherbin, Nvidia’s longtime communications chief, who retired in 2024. The departures included Anna Soellner, recruited to lead corporate communications. Business Insider previously reported that she left after roughly four months.

Communications teams consolidated

At the end of 2024, Nvidia restructured its communications organization. Two former employees said enterprise public relations was brought under Mangalindan’s leadership, alongside the corporate communications team she already headed.

One former employee linked the consolidation to the increasing importance of Nvidia’s data center business. That operation sells chips and systems used to power AI and had become the company’s biggest revenue driver.

Workload and staffing pressures

Three former employees said Nvidia’s communications team had historically been relatively lean, even as its workload increased with the company’s public profile. They described staff as balancing multiple responsibilities.

A person close to Nvidia said lean staffing helps employees move quickly but also means long hours. The person said Mangalindan encourages staff to take vacation, though the team’s small size can make time off difficult to schedule, particularly during the summer.
