Questions and answers

How do I work out a discount?

For 25% off $80, use the first line: 25% of 80 is 20, so you pay 60.

How do I work out a percentage increase?

Use the third line: from the old number to the new one. From 50 to 60 is a 20% increase.

Is there a quick way to find 10%?

Move the decimal point one place left: 10% of 85 is 8.5. Double it for 20%.
