LSU's first home defeat came against Alabama, but 3 Tigers stood out: Umanmielen, Leavitt and Harris

Umanmielen Pressures Russell
Defensive end Princewill Umanmielen continued to threaten opponents in the trenches against Alabama. Although he did not record a sack, he applied pressure throughout the game and challenged the Crimson Tide’s offensive line.
His pursuit made it harder for quarterback Kelon Russell to operate from the pocket. Umanmielen also moved across the field to pursue Russell, remaining a prominent part of LSU’s defensive effort.
Leavitt Leads LSU Offense
Quarterback Sam Leavitt completed a high-volume passing performance in a difficult SEC game. He threw for 380 yards on 47 attempts, the most attempts he had recorded this season, but did not throw a touchdown.
Leavitt also used his mobility when pressure closed in, gaining rushing yards as he escaped the pocket. He continued to move the ball downfield and target his outside options despite being kept out of the end zone.
Harris Provides Receiving Production
Wide receiver Jackson Harris remained a leading option for Leavitt and helped LSU sustain drives. He contributed to consecutive first downs as the offense built momentum in the middle of drives.
Against Alabama, Harris had 18 receptions for 166 yards, his second-highest receiving total of the season. He had entered the game after recording a season-high 178 receiving yards and two touchdowns against Auburn.
