After Their Parents’ Deaths, Jamie Lee Curtis Details Close Bond With Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s Kids

A family bond through grief
Curtis described her relationship with Jake Reiner, 35, and Romy Reiner, 28, as family. In an interview with Extra published Nov. 6, she said the loss had brought them closer.
She recalled sitting beside Jake during an interview and finding the moment emotional as he spoke about his parents and their relationship. Curtis said the family is grieving together, though a large public memorial has not yet taken place.
Deaths and legal case
Rob and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead at their Brentwood, Calif., home on Dec. 14. The report says their deaths occurred nearly a year before Curtis’s comments and also describes the couple as having been murdered.
In July, their son Nick Reiner, 32, was indicted by a grand jury. He has pleaded not guilty to two murder counts, with special circumstance allegations involving multiple murders and lying in wait, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman.
Curtis honors Rob Reiner
Curtis paid tribute to Rob during the 2026 Emmys In Memoriam segment in September, becoming emotional as she spoke about his achievements and his posthumous Emmy for The Bear. She also recalled his generosity, humor and friendship.
In an interview published Oct. 23, Curtis told The Hollywood Reporter that she and her husband, Christopher Guest, married at Rob’s home in 1984, with Rob serving as best man. Rob was godfather to their daughter Annie, she said, and Rob and Michele became godparents to Annie when they married.
