US disables another Iran ship trying to breach naval blockade

Ship targeted at blockade
U.S. Central Command said American forces fired at a cargo vessel seeking to break the blockade of Iranian ports. CENTCOM has disabled 11 ships since the measure began in July.
On Saturday, CENTCOM also announced a 20-person team, Task Force Iron Gate. The team will coordinate with other agencies to stop Iran from moving advanced weapons over land routes.
Tankers and Hormuz claims
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said two oil tankers struck mines east of the Strait of Hormuz, exploded and caught fire. The Islamic Republic News Agency reported the statement on Saturday.
The U.S. says it is enforcing a blockade covering Iran’s Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman ports. Iran says it controls the Strait of Hormuz and continues to claim attacks on vessels using the waterway.
Regional fighting continues
Iran and the United States have kept exchanging strikes, but the fighting has not returned to the intensity of the conflict’s early phase. Talks remain stalled despite a memorandum of understanding signed in June aimed at ending the war, which began with joint U.S.-Israeli strikes in February.
Other developments
President Donald Trump described reported strikes near Iran’s Qeshm Island on Friday as brief and defensive. Separately, the State Department offered $20 million for information about Iran’s nuclear program, according to a dated update from Nov. 6, 2026.
The conflict began with strikes that killed senior Iranian officials and commanders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Yemen has also seen intensified clashes between Saudi-backed forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels, with the Houthis repeatedly claiming attacks on Saudi military, oil and transport targets.
