Forget Traitors: Hulu’s 8-Episode Reality Competition Has White Lotus Star Parker Posey Running the Show
A new competition in the villa
The Mob gives Hulu a new reality competition with a different setting from The Traitors, the U.S. series hosted by Alan Cumming. Contestants from several reality shows, along with a star from The Sopranos, compete to become the next don.
Posey hosts as players tackle challenges drawn from classic mob movies. At the end of each job, a player becomes don and decides how money is divided, rewards loyalty and removes a competitor.
A kitchen challenge goes sideways
A cooking task pairs The Bachelor alum Maria Georgas with Too Hot to Handle alum Harry Jowsey. They are asked to prepare eggplant caponata with rosemary crackers, though neither knows what caponata is.
Georgas struggles with roasting the eggplant, while Jowsey says the kitchen is not a place where either belongs. Georgas takes charge because she can make at least one dish; the pair’s prospects in the challenge appear uncertain.
The Traitors remains established
Cumming has hosted the U.S. edition of The Traitors since its 2023 premiere on Peacock and NBC. The show has earned a strong audience and won the Outstanding Reality Series category beginning in 2024.
The series has been renewed through Season 9. The Mob enters the reality competition field with its Italian villa setting and a cast drawn from other television programs.
