11 Best New Characters in Dexter: Resurrection, Ranked for Their Impact on the Crime Drama
Fiona’s risky connection to Harrison
After a three-year time jump, Harrison is single following the end of his relationship with Gigi. Fiona, played by Nona Parker Johnson, enters as a potential new love interest—and a police officer whose father leads the homicide division.
Fiona is described as confident and independent, with a more vulnerable side. Her growing influence over Harrison could affect his relationship with Dexter, positioning her to become important in Season 2.
Melvin brings steady support
Detective Melvin Oliva, played by Dominic Fumusa, drew fan speculation in Season 1 as a possible New York Ripper. The account says that suspicion proved wrong, leaving him as an honest cop rather than the killer.
Melvin supports his partner, Detective Claudette Wallace, and takes pride in giving her the Ripper’s file from Leon Prater’s vault. Season 2 also shows him as a devoted father and a stabilizing presence amid the show’s chaos.
Blessing reflects the good
Blessing, played by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, makes a positive impression on Dexter from their first meeting. His traumatic childhood hints at a darker history, but he is presented as someone determined to value his second chance.
For Dexter, Blessing and his family represent the people he wants to protect. Blessing can unintentionally disrupt Dexter’s plans, while the possibility that he may learn Dexter’s truth creates tension.
Captain Mixon enters the cast
Bokeem Woodbine, known for Fargo, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Ray, plays Captain Mixon in Dexter: Resurrection. The account compares the role to a combination of María LaGuerta and Tom Matthews.
The description of Mixon stops there, without further character details or a complete ranking. The account likewise names other returning cast members, including Angel Batista, Harry Morgan, and Joey Quinn, who returns in a starring role for Season 2.
