Rated Stardew Valley Replacement Officially Arrives March 2027 With a Murder Mystery

A darker farming simulator

Grave Seasons follows Dara, an escaped convict trying to build a new life in the mountain town of Ashenridge. Its Steam description calls it an “isometric pixel murder mystery farming/life sim,” according to the game’s description on Steam.

Players can grow crops, fish, mine, craft items, and form relationships with neighbors. They must also investigate suspicious residents, search homes, and uncover clues to identify a supernatural serial killer and possibly save the next victim.

A new killer each time

More than 30 townspeople appear in the game, including 12 potential romantic partners. Some could secretly be the murderer, and the killer changes between playthroughs, making each run different.

Perfect Garbage estimates that a campaign will take about 15–20 hours and cover one in-game year. The studio plans to include multiple campaigns at launch.

Release date and platforms

The confirmed release date is March 9, 2027. Grave Seasons is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, with an Xbox Game Pass release on day one.

The game was initially scheduled for August 2026 and later moved to fall. In a September 30 Steam announcement, Perfect Garbage said console development challenges contributed to the delay.

Development and player interest

Perfect Garbage said it partnered with a porting specialist, improved controller functionality, and optimized performance for Switch and a wider range of PCs. The game is content-complete, with remaining work focused on polish, stability, and bug fixes.

The game had more than 750,000 Steam wishlists as of September. Its official M rating covers blood, gore, strong language, and violence.
