James Bond revealed? Front-runner’s co-star claims chosen actor spilled beans after boozy night

A reported pub conversation
An unnamed source told the Sun that they met one of O’Connor’s “Golden Boy” cast members at The French House. The source said the conversation turned to Bond after the pair had spoken in a corner of the pub.
The source claimed the cast member, after drinking several glasses of lager, said O’Connor was the next James Bond. They described the cast member as insistent and said the person claimed O’Connor had confided in them at celebratory drinks after the play’s run ended on Halloween.
The source also said the cast member seemed proud of O’Connor. The account has not been confirmed by an official announcement.
Casting remains unsettled
The next Bond film, known as “Bond 26,” is slated to premiere in 2028, but no official date has been announced. Amazon MGM Studios will develop the film.
O’Connor, Jacob Elordi, Jack Lowden and Callum Turner have all been rumored for the role. Screen tests are ongoing, and the film’s lead has not been officially revealed.
O’Connor on Bond speculation
In a BBC interview Tuesday, O’Connor said he was “very honored” to be in the running. He described being considered alongside Bond as an extraordinary, “pinch-me moment.” O’Connor also said he was “afraid” there was nothing more he could say. He did not confirm that he had been offered or accepted the role.
His career and Bond’s past
O’Connor most recently played Dr. Daniel Kellner in the sci-fi thriller “Disclosure Day.” He is also known for playing King Charles III in “The Crown,” a performance that earned him a Primetime Emmy in 2021 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Daniel Craig, 58, was the previous James Bond. He left the role after starring in “No Time To Die” in 2021.
