Bad Monkey Season 2 Trailer Officially Gives Vince Vaughn a Greatest Moment Yet
Yancy faces a new case
The crime comedy’s first season followed Key West police detective Andrew Yancy after he was demoted to restaurant inspector. A request to transport a severed arm drew him into a murder investigation involving medical examiner Rosa Campesino, former partner Rogelio and Caitlin.
The search for the truth led Yancy into a world of land developers, Obeah practitioners and a troublesome monkey. In the new season, he may be able to get his police badge back, but first he must take on Spencer Donovan, played by John Malkovich.
Trouble follows Yancy
The trailer places Yancy in over his head again. He has a new partner, an assassin on his trail and an unpleasant feud with a rat relocation expert.
Natalie Martinez, John Ortiz and Charlotte Lawrence appeared in the first season. Season 2 also features Yvonne Strahovski, Zavior Phillips, Nate Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Brent Morin, Joey Avery, Dax Shepard, Sam Jaeger, Margarita Levieva, Peter Billingsley and June Diane Raphael.
Season draws on new story
Bad Monkey’s first season was adapted from Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel of the same name. Although Hiaasen published a follow-up, Razor Girl, in 2016, the second season is not based on that book.
The series is executive produced and showrun by Bill Lawrence. Season 2 premieres exclusively on Apple TV on December 2.
