How to track today’s midterm election results with Apple News Live Activity | 9to5Mac

Election contests underway
Election Day in the United States includes races for every one of the 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats. As polls close and vote totals begin to come in, Apple News is providing a way to follow the count.
The app has offered this option in recent elections as well. Results appear as they become available, with updates continuing through the vote count.
Turn on election updates
U.S. users can open Apple News and select the banner at the top labeled “Follow the 2026 midterms live.” Enabling it starts the election Live Activity. Live Activities deliver updates from apps to an iPhone Lock Screen and, on supported models, the Dynamic Island. That lets users check results without repeatedly opening Apple News.
Follow results on Mac
People who prefer to use a computer can have iPhone Live Activities appear in the Mac menu bar through iPhone Mirroring. The feature was introduced in macOS Tahoe 26. Apple News also provides further coverage and analysis of the 2026 midterm elections.
