Legend Zelda Ocarina Time remake: official Dead Hand redesign appears online

A notorious enemy returns
Dead Hand is encountered below Kakariko Village, in a dungeon filled with torture devices and corpses. Its gruesome appearance made the enemy an especially striking horror element in the original game.
The N64 version’s low-poly graphics left much to the imagination. With a more realistic look in the remake, fans had wondered how Nintendo would handle the creature.

Redesign surfaces online
An image shared on X shows the remake’s Dead Hand. Its sunken eyes and unhinged jaw remain, while the face appears to have skin peeled away. The enemy’s body is still large, blob-like and decaying.
The Dead Hand reveal follows leaks of redesigned Redeads, described as zombie-like figures in the Zelda universe. The images have surfaced in the week before the remake’s release.

Release and future plans
The remake launches November 5 on Nintendo Switch 2 and is a central part of Nintendo’s 40th anniversary plans for the franchise. The article says attention is expected to shift afterward to a live-action movie in 2027 and then to the next original series entry.
Nintendo said rebuilding Ocarina of Time could lead to insights for future development. The company explained that revisiting the game was valuable because it could teach its team about the original’s structure and development style.
