Flag Means Death Star Impresses Elsbeth With Golf Skills in Season 4 Sneak Peek
A case at the country club
In “A Bad Lie,” Elsbeth investigates after the club president dies in what is described as a freak accident: a large branch from the course’s Osage orange tree struck him. A private insurance broker shares Elsbeth’s suspicion that the death may have involved foul play.
Faxon plays Perry, the golfer whose apparent hole-in-one draws attention. He is eager to show off a plaque for the charity tournament shot, while Elsbeth considers whether he may be connected to the death.
Work meets family plans
The country club is also where Roy’s parents belong, bringing Elsbeth’s investigation into the setting of a family meeting. She and her mother, Lydia, are there to meet Teddy’s future in-laws, Yvette and Glenn.
Elsbeth has been balancing murder investigations with helping plan Teddy’s wedding. In this episode, she must navigate an unfamiliar, high-class environment while trying to support her son.
A careful first impression
Before the introductions, Lydia urges Elsbeth not to be too “interesting,” saying her personality contributed to ruining a cousin’s engagement. Teddy then brings in Yvette and Glenn, whom the episode presents as country-club regulars.
The meeting’s moment of remembrance for the club president is cut short when Perry arrives with his tournament plaque. An exclusive preview shows the encounter, as Elsbeth tries to manage her reactions while the investigation unfolds.
Season four guest performers
Faxon joins a Season 4 guest cast that has included Nicole Scherzinger, Nicholas Braun, OG Anunoby, Jemima Kirke, Sam Richardson and Lea Michele. The episode is set to premiere Thursday on CBS.
Deadline also reported that Simon Helberg, known for The Big Bang Theory, will join the series. He is set to play a feverish Revolutionary War re-enactor whose job is threatened by a new recruit.
