T-Mobile Adds a 5 Gig Fiber Home Internet Plan to Its Lineup, CNET Reports

New five-gigabit service
T-Mobile’s Fiber 5 Gig service is scheduled to begin Nov. 3. It costs $90 monthly with AutoPay, before taxes and fees, and includes matching upload and download speeds along with unlimited data.
Customers can request a mesh Wi-Fi extender to help carry the signal across their home. The new premium tier comes with a 10-year price guarantee, though the guarantee has exceptions.

Prices and promotional offer
T-Mobile’s next-fastest listed option is its Fiber 2 Gig plan, priced at $70 per month. Google Fiber’s 3 Gig Home plan costs $100 monthly. For a limited time, T-Mobile is offering two months free through two bill credits, as well as $300 in virtual prepaid cards.

Guarantee has exclusions
Fiber 5 Gig is the only T-Mobile Fiber plan with a price guarantee. Its terms exclude taxes and fees, voluntary equipment or speed upgrades, certain limited-time promotions, per-use charges, third-party services and network management practices. The guarantee comes after T-Mobile recently settled with the New York Attorney General’s Office over a dispute involving price guarantees on some older 4G T-Mobile One plans from almost a decade ago.
