Severance Star John Turturro’s Movie Officially Explodes at the Box Office, Sales Jump 1,173%

Turturro returns to Severance
Season 3 of Apple TV’s Severance is in production, following a three-year gap between its first and second seasons. The series’ 2025 season delivered a twist-filled story, while the next release date remains unannounced.
Adam Scott and Britt Lower are set to return. John Turturro also confirmed he will be involved, though he told Collider’s Perri Nemiroff that he did not know the plot in January.
A wider theatrical release
Turturro’s crime thriller, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, debuted in U.S. theaters on October 23 after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. Its opening run was limited to six locations, before it expanded to 1,112 theaters last weekend.
The wider release coincided with a 1,173% increase in ticket sales. The film earned $1.765 million across the 1,112 theaters, and its per-theater average surpassed that of director Kitao Sakurai’s live-action Street Fighter movie.
