462 Yards, Five TDs: Burrow Goes Boom, NFL Week 8 Winners and Losers; Cowboys Return to Rock Bottom

Burrow powers Bengals past Tennessee

Joe Burrow put himself into the MVP conversation with a remarkable showing against Tennessee. He threw for 462 yards and five touchdowns, then scored on a run in overtime as Cincinnati won 43-36.

Burrow also threw three interceptions, while the Bengals defense struggled to contain Cam Ward and Tony Pollard. Tee Higgins caught 10 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns, and Ja’Marr Chase added 11 catches for 141 yards and a score. Cincinnati moved to 6-3.

Minnesota loses its unbeaten mark

Detroit beat Minnesota 19-15, leaving the Vikings at 6-1 and making them the last NFL team to lose this season. The result also gave surviving members of the 1972 Dolphins a reason to celebrate their team’s lasting 17-0 record.

Minnesota’s offense, led by Kyler Murray, scored only 10 points against Detroit. Justin Jefferson declined to comment after the game, amid his frustrations with quarterback play over the past two years.

Jacksonville and Pittsburgh dominate

Jacksonville crushed Indianapolis 42-7, making the most of its only home game during an eight-week stretch. The Jaguars ran for 183 yards on 33 carries and forced three turnovers.

Jonathan Taylor managed 23 yards on eight carries and lost a fumble. Pittsburgh beat Cleveland 27-6 to reach 6-2, sacking Deshaun Watson eight times and recovering two fumbles. The Browns have not won a regular-season game at Acrisure Stadium since 2003.
