Worth is being developed at NBC by Mike Diliberti, Jake Coburn and Jack Carr. Its lead character, Will Worth, is an Army Ranger who becomes a war hero and bestselling author before choosing to leave that life behind.

Carr’s television work

Carr, a former Navy SEAL, is the author of The Terminal List novels and other books, including The Fourth Option and the nonfiction title Targeted: Beirut. He is also an executive producer on the Prime Video adaptation of his novels.

The Terminal List follows James Reece, a Navy SEAL seeking answers after his platoon is killed. The series stars Chris Pratt, with Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch and Tom Hopper. David DiGilio created the show and serves as its showrunner.

Terminal List franchise grows

The first season premiered in 2022 and quickly reached the top of Prime Video’s streaming charts, despite mixed-to-negative reviews from critics. Its success led to the spinoff The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which debuted last year with Kitsch.

Dark Wolf has not been renewed. It received a 75% Rotten Tomatoes score, while the article reports that season two of The Terminal List released all eight episodes less than two weeks ago and has a 60% score. Audience averages were reported as 93% for The Terminal List and 81% for Dark Wolf.

Development remains early

Coburn is also working at NBC on a reimagining of The Great Gatsby. His credits include co-creating The Endgame and serving as co-showrunner on The Hunting Party. No cast members have signed on to Worth, and no premiere date is known. Carr’s next Terminal List novel, State of Exile, is expected on October 5, 2027.
