At $0.23, These 10 Trick or Trade TCG Cards Are Worth the Most Money

Seasonal cards, shifting prices

The Pokémon Trading Card Game releases Trick or Trade BOOster packs each autumn, usually starting in September. The cards feature a Pikachu Jack-o-Lantern stamp and often show Pokémon suited to Halloween.

The packs’ large supply tends to keep prices low at first, but some cards can become more valuable over time. Market prices fluctuate, and collectors may seek complete sets while others buy the packs hoping to resell cards for more.

Flutter Mane reaches $0.20

Flutter Mane’s gradient background highlights its holofoil effect. The Pokémon also has a Secret Rare version in Temporal Forces, while a promo was released with the Walking Wake Temporal Forces Elite Trainer Box.

The Trick or Trade printing is less desirable and less expensive than those versions, in part because the packs are inexpensive and copies are more plentiful. TCGPlayer lists its current market price at $0.20.

Mewtwo and Darkrai prints

The Trick or Trade Mewtwo is priced at $0.21 on TCGPlayer. Its Psyburn attack previously appeared on a promotional Mewtwo distributed for the Mewtwo Strikes Back movie. The card’s original version is from Brilliant Stars, which also had a promotional print bearing the set’s logo. That version is described as the rarest and most valuable, though the Trick or Trade card works just as well in a deck. The 2024 Darkrai card, a reprint of its Obsidian Flames Rare, has a Cosmos Holofoil treatment and a listed market value of $0.22.

Two Pikachu editions

One Trick or Trade Pikachu reprints a Common card from Evolving Skies. Its artwork shows Pikachu on a rock in a field of flowers and trees, rather than in a Halloween setting. TCGPlayer lists its market price at $0.23.

Pikachu has appeared in every Trick or Trade set. The 2023 set included a card that also appeared as a McDonald’s promotional card; that promo originated from Paldea Evolved, which debuted in June 2023.
