Hayek picked Piña, Cruz’s role in “The Invite,” as her costume for the “Hockey Halloween Bash.” Vas J Morgan and Michael Braun hosted the event. Hayek was photographed at the party. Her makeup artist, Pablo Maciasr, posted an image of the look on Instagram on Sunday.
A striking change in appearance
The actress, 60, traded her dark hair for a bright blond bob with bangs. Eduardo Ponce created the hairstyle. She paired a black silk button-down with jeans and a black leather jacket, drawing on Piña’s appearance in the A24 film. The movie also stars Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogan and Ed Norton.
Three decades of friendship
Cruz had not yet publicly commented on Hayek’s tribute to their friendship, described in the story as 30 years long. Hayek, known for “Frida,” was praised for capturing the character.
Cruz recently said she once did Hayek’s makeup for a film premiere after Hayek’s glam team canceled and the electricity went out. Despite their long connection, the two have acted together in only one movie: “Bandidas,” released in 2006.
