Resident Evil Officially Unleashes a Double Dose of Horror on Netflix Today

Two films, one escalating crisis

The first two Resident Evil films make a double feature as the danger quickly spreads. The original confines Alice and a team inside a facility linked to Umbrella Corporation.

In Resident Evil: Apocalypse, the crisis reaches Raccoon City. Characters familiar to fans of the games appear as the number of people caught in the disaster grows.

Alice’s first fight against Umbrella

Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, the 2002 film introduces Alice after she wakes in a mansion without knowing who she is. A security team takes her to the Hive, Umbrella’s underground research facility, where the T-virus has transformed its employees.

Michelle Rodriguez co-stars as Rain Ocampo, a member of the team whose mission keeps taking unexpected turns. Across six films, Jovovich’s Alice became one of the franchise’s best-known figures, despite not appearing in the games.

Now streaming on Netflix

Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse arrived on Netflix in the United States on November 1. Their release offers viewers a chance to revisit Alice’s story from its beginning. The first two films trace her growing conflict with Umbrella and its experiments, setting up the longer struggle that continues across the series.
