With Florida State Defeated, Dabo Swinney Makes History Following Clemson Victory in Tallahassee

A record-setting win

Saturday’s victory brought Swinney to 192 wins as Clemson’s head coach, the highest total by any coach in his first 19 seasons. He passed Nick Saban and Bob Stoops, who each recorded 191 wins in 20 seasons.

The win also tied Swinney with former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden for the most ACC regular-season victories. The account also says Swinney passed Bowden for the most wins as a head coach at an ACC school during Clemson’s previous visit to Doak Campbell Stadium.

Clemson stays in contention

Clemson has had an uneven record in 2026 but is 3-2 in ACC play and remains in slight contention for the conference championship. The team needs one more win to be in position for a bowl bid.

The account says Clemson has played a postseason game in every season with Swinney as head coach. It adds that the Tigers are seeking to keep that run going.

Contributions across the team

Quarterback Tait Reynolds threw two touchdowns and scored another on a 79-yard run that sealed the game. Clemson’s defense forced four turnovers. Nolan Hauser made five field goals. The article credits contributions across the team’s offense, defense and kicking game in reaching Swinney’s milestone.

Syracuse is next

Clemson’s next game is against Syracuse in upstate New York, a week after the Florida State victory. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at the JMA Wireless Dome. The article notes the changing college football landscape, including the rise of NIL and the transfer portal, while saying Clemson continues to find ways to win.
