Star Trek Online Is Bringing Back the Enterprise Era With a Terran NX Ship in December 2026, Franchise Officially Confirms

Enterprise returns in the game
Star Trek: Enterprise aired from 2001 to 2005 as the franchise’s sixth television series. Set in the 22nd century, it followed Earth’s first warp-five-capable starship and served as a prequel to The Original Series.
The era is returning through Star Trek Online, the MMORPG developed by Cryptic Studios and first released in 2010. The game is set in the 25th century and is marking the franchise’s 60th anniversary.
A Terran version of NX-01
It will not be the NX-01 captained by Scott Bakula’s Jonathan Archer. Instead, the ship draws on “In a Mirror, Darkly,” Enterprise’s two-part fourth-season story, which featured alternate, ruthless versions of the crew.
Story details still to come
The Mirror Universe storyline also includes the discovery of the USS Defiant, a Federation starship displaced from another time and universe. The game’s new addition is intended to celebrate that chapter of Enterprise’s story.
Cryptic has not yet shared the ship’s abilities or capabilities, or explained how players will commandeer it. The Terran NX starship is one of the new arrivals planned during Star Trek’s anniversary year.
