2026's 58 best new shows span mysteries, fantasy and comedy, plus 2 stars: Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe

New stories and familiar worlds
Television’s idea of “new” can be complicated. Original series still attract attention, but audiences often gravitate toward stories and worlds they already know. That makes word of mouth important for distinctive new shows, while remakes and reboots must prove they are worth watching. The year’s offerings include both familiar franchises and fresh premises.
Mystery and fantasy picks
Netflix’s His & Hers follows a detective, played by Jon Bernthal, and his estranged journalist wife, played by Tessa Thompson. They seek answers after a woman with close ties to both of them is found dead. The series is based on Alice Feeney’s book.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms turns to a smaller-scale tale within the Game of Thrones universe. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novellas, it follows a humble, anxious hedge knight, played by former professional rugby player Peter Claffey, and his young squire, played by Dexter Sol Ansell.
Spies and comedy arrive
Ponies is set in Moscow in the 1970s and centers on two women working with the CIA. After both of their husbands die in mysterious circumstances, the women become caught up in a wider conspiracy. Haley Lu Richardson and Emilia Clarke star.
Another series pairs Tracy Morgan as a disgraced former football player with Daniel Radcliffe as a documentary filmmaker following him. It comes from the team behind 30 Rock, debuted in a special January showing, and is set to continue on a regular schedule later in February.
