After 3 years of marriage, Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff file jointly for divorce

Divorce filing and settlement
Qualley was listed as the plaintiff, but the filing was made jointly on Friday, according to New York Supreme Court records obtained by Page Six. The couple also submitted a settlement agreement, which remains under court review.
Page Six reported on July 8 that the singer and actress had separated after nearly three years of marriage. The couple married in New Jersey in August 2023.
Accounts of the split
A source told Page Six that the couple did not end their relationship for a dramatic reason and rejected social media rumors of infidelity. The source said they were working through the situation together and described their relationship as loving.
Another source said communication had been a challenge, and that Qualley did not always feel her views received equal weight. Us Weekly later reported that busy schedules and distance contributed to the breakup, and said Qualley initiated it. The accounts do not fully agree on how the decision began.
From dating to marriage
Qualley and Antonoff began dating in summer 2021 after meeting at a party. Antonoff later recalled meeting her on The Howard Stern Show, saying, “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.” News of their engagement broke in May 2022. Antonoff said he proposed in Paris after calling Qualley’s sister, Rainey Qualley. Ahead of their wedding, Qualley described Antonoff as her “person” in a Harper’s Bazaar interview.
Music after the separation
This week, Antonoff said performing songs about Qualley remains a “really beautiful” experience despite their separation. He had also reportedly told guests at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding that he and Qualley were in a “tiff” and that he did not want to pretend everything was fine while they were having trouble.
