3 Fan-Favorite Stars Are Officially Reuniting for Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

A return to the franchise
Jennifer Lawrence confirmed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she will reprise Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. She said Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson will also appear.
Lawrence described the reunion as emotional, noting that the film had the same crew and camera team she had worked with before. She recalled that she and Hutcherson stayed close during filming, while Harrelson made an unexpected entrance through her hotel room window.
Haymitch’s Games take center stage
Set during the 50th annual Hunger Games, the story centers on a Quarter Quell with a special rule: every district must send twice as many tributes. Joseph Zada plays Haymitch.
Returning characters, younger versions
The upcoming movie is the franchise’s second prequel and will feature new cast members alongside characters from the original trilogy, portrayed at younger ages. The book’s ending takes place after the events of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, when Haymitch speaks with Katniss and Peeta. Francis Lawrence, who directed several earlier Hunger Games films, returns to direct the adaptation.
