Halloween weather: Here’s where trick-or-treat plans may face a forecast twist

Texas faces flood concerns

Moisture from Tropical Storm Vance is expected to bring two to four inches of rain to some Texas cities. The heavy rainfall could create dangerous flash-flood conditions. AccuWeather meteorologist Tyler Roys urged Texas families to monitor conditions, particularly if traveling or attending outdoor events Thursday or Friday. He warned that dry, hard ground can cause rain to run off quickly, creating risks for drivers, homeowners and communities in West Texas.

Showers and storms out West

Los Angeles and San Diego may see showers, and storms could reach the Southern California coast by Halloween night, according to KTLA meteorologist Kirk Hawkins. He also pointed to a temperature shift around that time.

Rain possible in Midwest

Rain could fall in Des Moines, Chicago and Minneapolis on Friday and Saturday, with most of the impacts expected Friday. Temperatures across much of the region are forecast to remain moderate, with highs in the 60s.

East stays mostly comfortable

Much of the eastern United States is expected to have pleasant Halloween conditions. Forecast highs are in the 60s along the East Coast, with cooler readings in parts of New England.

The Mid-Atlantic could see cloudy but dry skies. Warm, humid weather is expected from the Gulf Coast into Florida, where scattered showers are also forecast across parts of the peninsula.
