Chmerkovskiy Apologizes to Jenna Dewan on Dancing with the Stars; Carrie Ann Inaba Praises Choreography After Controversy

An apology during rehearsal
During Tuesday night’s “Horror Movie Night” rehearsal package, Chmerkovskiy apologized to Dewan for the chaos surrounding the earlier controversy. He told her she had not deserved what happened.
Dewan said she forgave him, and the two returned to rehearsing their dance. They have been competing together for several weeks on season 35 of Dancing with the Stars.
Praise after the tango
After the pair performed an Argentine Tango, Inaba began her critique by complimenting Chmerkovskiy’s choreography. She then awarded them nine out of ten. The praise came after a dispute two weeks earlier over a lift during week five. Inaba had criticized the move, and Chmerkovskiy later referenced Will Smith’s Oscars slap on social media.
Suspension and replacement
Inaba posted, “So this is what we are doing now?” on her Instagram Story. Chmerkovskiy later issued a public apology to the judge and received a one-week suspension from the competition.
He did not perform with Dewan during week six. Alan Bersten, who was eliminated this season, filled in for him.
