Reddit plans to deprecate r/all, getting users two homepage feeds: Following and For You

Two feeds for the homepage
Reddit says its new feed experience includes a Following feed for posts from subscribed-to subreddits and a For You feed combining those posts with recommendations related to users’ interests. Some users may already see the options; one reporter noticed them on their account the previous day.
The company described the update as an initial move toward discovery of relevant ideas, connections, perspectives, and interests. Reddit said it wants people to find value in the internet and take part, rather than simply watch.
A shift from r/all
The change follows Reddit’s announcement earlier this year that it would deprecate r/all. That feed gathered popular posts from across the platform, and Reddit linked its planned removal to efforts to simplify the service and improve Home feed personalization.
In one day of use, the reporter found For You more targeted than r/all. Suggested posts from r/Silksong, r/iPhoneDuo, and r/decomps appeared prominently, despite the reporter not subscribing to those communities but having visited them recently.
Old Reddit remains available
The reporter preferred Following, saying it offered more control over what appeared. Reddit also remembers the last feed used, so returning to the site can reopen on that selection.
People seeking the classic homepage sorting options — “best,” “hot,” “new,” “rising,” and “controversial” — can use Old Reddit through old.reddit.com or settings. Reddit plans to reduce access unless users have visited Old Reddit recently.
