In heated Georgia Senate race, Mike Collins drops post-election fuel price prediction

Collins predicts lower fuel prices

Georgia Republican Mike Collins said he expects fuel prices to decline after Election Day. He made the prediction while campaigning against Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in a closely watched Senate race.

The interview took place Tuesday, one week before voters were set to decide the contest. Collins is a trucking company owner as well as a member of the House of Representatives.

Private conversation after rally

Collins said he spoke privately with President Donald Trump after a rally in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday. Trump announced a $4.2 billion investment by German automaker Audi at the event.

Collins described Trump as interested in hearing others’ views. “He always wants to know what you think,” Collins told Fox News Digital.

Infrastructure and Audi investment

During the interview, Collins discussed his role in preparing Georgia’s infrastructure for Audi’s multibillion-dollar manufacturing investment. The rally took place at the Guardian Centers in Perry. The investment announcement came one week before Election Day in Georgia’s Senate contest. Collins is seeking to unseat Ossoff, the Democratic incumbent.
