Michael Bay’s Black Hawk Down Replacement Officially Finds a New Streaming Base

A new home on Starz
One of Michael Bay’s lesser-known action films is now part of the Starz library. The addition offers a new opportunity for audiences to watch it, while fans of Reacher and Jack Ryan may also revisit the movie.
The film centers on a real military operation that had drawn headlines only a few years before its release. John Krasinski made his action debut in the project.
A difficult box office run
Bay released the film in 2016, after directing Transformers: Age of Extinction. It brought in around $70 million worldwide, compared with a reported production budget of $50 million.
The result followed Pain & Gain, another Bay action film outside a major franchise. Released in 2013, it earned roughly $85 million worldwide, despite starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.
Bay’s next film remains unclear
Bay’s most recent film is Ambulance, an action thriller released in 2022. He has not directed another narrative feature since then, making this his longest gap between movies.
Reports have raised the possibility of Bay returning to Transformers, the franchise he launched in 2007 and tried to reboot in 2014. His plans have not been confirmed.
