Kingpin’s Future After Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Remains Uncertain

D’Onofrio clarifies his remarks

D’Onofrio addressed comments he made at London’s MCM Comic Con about the cast continuing to play their characters after Daredevil: Born Again’s third season. He explained on X that he had been asked how he felt about the show ending.

The actor said he considers Kingpin’s story unfinished unless the role is recast. He added that this view does not depend on whether the cast takes part in another project.

A possible return remains open

The series’ planned end follows the cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil after three seasons in 2018. D’Onofrio thanked fans of the Disney+ revival and said, “I love that character Fisk.” No future appearances have been confirmed for D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, Cox’s Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page or Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. Their recurring roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe leave open the possibility of appearances in other projects.

Cox also sees possibilities

Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, was similarly cautious about what comes next in an interview with Screen Rant. He said he did not know whether audiences had seen the character for the last time.

Cox added that he did not think Matt’s story was over, while noting a return might take a long time. He offered no details about a future project.

Season three is set for 2027

D’Onofrio and Cox’s rivalry has been part of the Marvel stories for more than a decade. In Daredevil: Born Again, Fisk became mayor of New York City before stepping down after a major clash with Daredevil and his allies.

The article describes Kingpin as appearing headed toward a final confrontation with Daredevil, but what follows the third season is not known. Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum has said viewers can support the show by watching it and increasing its audience numbers. Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2027.
