Wife says husband Philip Young brought someone into bedroom, court told

What Joanne told police
In police interviews played at Winchester Crown Court, Joanne Young described an incident in February 2023 after a night out with friends. She said she had gone to bed and later woke with a blindfold and restraints on.
As she loosened the restraints, she felt a hand grip her wrist. Joanne said Philip Young told someone to “get down,” and she saw a person ducking near the end of the bed before running to the bathroom and locking the door.
She told police there were two people in the room. Her vision was blurry because she was not wearing glasses or contact lenses, and she later noticed an unfamiliar car outside.
Apology and online images
Joanne said Young later apologised and was very upset. She told police she had never agreed to anyone watching them have sex, and described the incident as intrusive and deeply upsetting.
She said she initially treated it as a one-off and tried to move on. Joanne also recalled an earlier joking exchange about having sex with someone else, but said it was never a serious discussion or part of their relationship.
On the day Young was arrested, Joanne said, he admitted sharing intimate images of her online without consent. She described feeling shocked and confused, and said she did not know when the images had been taken.

Four men are jointly charged with Young, 50, and deny the allegations against them. Connor Sanderson-Doyle denies sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching in 2016; Norman Macksoni denies rape in 2017.
