Almost all Amazon Echo gear is available now, with one big exception
Most devices are on sale
Amazon’s latest launches cover speakers, smart displays and a smart photo frame. The Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera, Echo Time and Alexa Photo Frame are available now.
The Echo Show 16 is scheduled to arrive on December 16th. Customers can preorder it and save $100 off its cost.
Updates to Echo speakers
The new Echo Dot has 50 percent more bass and faster on-device processing for Alexa Plus conversations. It also adds a microphone to help hear users around the house, plus Omnisense temperature and presence sensing for smart-home control.
The Echo Studio adds a camera and Alexa Plus features. Amazon plans to enable pairing with Fire TV devices after launch, allowing video calls to appear on a television.
Clock and photo frame features
Echo Time is a bedside alarm clock designed to support better sleep, without a camera. It uses ultrasound to detect sleep stages and can use smart alarms to ease users into the day.
The Alexa Photo Frame has a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen and comes in several design options. It also works as a smart speaker, and supports Amazon Photos, which provides unlimited storage for Prime members.
Echo Show 16 details
Amazon describes the Echo Show 16 as its most powerful and best-sounding smart display yet. Its audio setup has eight woofers and two tweeters between the stand and screen. The display is VESA-compatible, and buyers can choose a more expensive nanomatte screen option.
