A Twin Peaks-Style Sci-Fi Mystery Series Makes Netflix a Perfect Halloween Binge
A town with no escape
From centers on Boyd Stevens, played by Harold Perrineau, the mayor of a town that holds its residents captive. As they seek a way out, they also face terrifying creatures that emerge at night.
The show’s uneasy small-town atmosphere recalls Twin Peaks, while its trapped characters add a claustrophobic survival-horror element. Its mix of ordinary community life and creeping dread drives the mystery.
Netflix adds three seasons
Netflix has added the first three seasons of From to its U.S. library. The show quickly climbed to second place in the platform’s streaming charts. The release gives new viewers 30 episodes to explore. The fourth season is still available only on MGM+, though it could reach Netflix later.
A story still unfolding
Executive producers Jake Bender and Jeff Pinkner also worked on Lost. Both series draw inspiration from Twin Peaks, and From likewise features Perrineau in a central role.
