Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Spin Faces an Even Bigger Threat in Marshals Sneak Peek

A dangerous search begins

In Marshals, Luke Grimes plays Kayce Dutton, who has left the ranch for a role with a badge. The series places him in a different kind of conflict, where mistakes can carry devastating consequences.

The team is searching for a co-conspirator after a close encounter with a suicide bomber. They believe the person has an even larger explosive, raising the stakes of their investigation.

Distrust blocks the investigation

The trail brings the Marshals to a suspect’s family. Their deep suspicion of the government makes it difficult for the team to get information. The sneak peek shows a tense confrontation, with the family’s distrust adding to an already dangerous situation. The team faces the prospect of tensions boiling over as it tries to move the investigation forward.

Grimes on Kayce’s journey

Earlier this year, Grimes said Clint Eastwood, who directed him in American Sniper, inspired the series’ key art. He also said Eastwood’s Unforgiven was the “best Western ever made.” Grimes saw parallels between that film and Kayce’s story, including Kayce losing his wife and struggling to manage the ranch and fatherhood without her. He said Eastwood casting him in American Sniper led directly to his major break on Yellowstone.
