Weeks of MasterChef filming in Australia could see Meghan spend time there shortly after UK return

Reported Australian hosting role

Meghan Markle is reportedly preparing to co-host Junior MasterChef in Australia. The report says she could spend weeks there after returning to the UK. A source said the Duke of Sussex and the couple’s children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, may travel to see her. Their visit has not been confirmed.

Meghan, 45, appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia earlier this year, during its 18th series. Contestants were challenged to transform a basic culinary element into a creation described as “fit for a duchess”.

Family allegations and police review

The report about Meghan’s possible role came days after her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, told The Sun that he found child sexual abuse images at their father’s former home in the Philippines. He said he reported the images to local police and the FBI.

Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, defended their father and told the Mail on Sunday, “I believe this is a set-up.” She said she had seen a letter to Scotland Yard making troubling allegations and was told they were being investigated. The Met is reviewing how the matter was handled, including whether it should be referred to the police watchdog.

Career plans under consideration

Earlier this month, a source told The Telegraph that Meghan was reading many scripts. The source said her focus would be on her family, lifestyle brand and a return to acting rather than pseudo-royal visits. The source added that Meghan might undertake charity work if she had time, describing her as a full-time mother and entrepreneur rather than a working royal.
