Trading Card Game Brings Jurassic Park to Strategy Fans as Franchise Officially Switches Genres This Month

A New Direction For The Franchise

Since the 1993 film, Jurassic Park has remained a major presence in popular culture and a benchmark for dinosaur movies. The franchise has grown from Spielberg’s original trilogy into the Jurassic World era.

The future of the film series is uncertain after Jurassic World Rebirth earned more than $869 million worldwide but received mixed reviews. Director Gareth Edwards also left the planned sequel over creative differences, while J.A. Bayona has reportedly emerged as a possible replacement.

Game Reaches US Players

The officially licensed Jurassic Park Trading Card Game arrives in English in the United States on November 20, 2026. It was developed by Young Cha Company in collaboration with Universal and first launched in South Korea in July 2025.

The strategy game draws on dinosaurs, characters and locations from across the franchise. Its development also included veteran card game designer Ryo Shinomoto, whose past credits include One Piece and Dragon Ball Super.

Starter Sets And Card Play

The set contains 75 cards: 44 Dinosaur Cards, 16 Event Cards, three Character Cards and 12 Area Cards. A playmat and rulebook are included. The Korean version features figures such as Dr. Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm and Robert Muldoon, as well as Spinosaurus, Velociraptor and Allosaurus.

Decks, Battles And More Products

Players build decks, deploy dinosaurs and compete in strategic battles. Dinosaur Cards drive combat, while Character and Event Cards add abilities and tactical options; Area Cards supply resources needed to play other cards.

The November launch also includes the Outland Predator base set and the Raptor Strike expansion. They introduce 101 and 57 base card types, respectively, with additional parallel variants for collectors. Starter sets are listed at about $19.99 at some retailers.
